Customised tote trays at half the price

Toolcraft Plastics has introduced an economic system of work trays for handling, storage and transportation of parts & small assemblies.

 

Whilst Toolcraft make both custom trays to suit and a range of standard work trays, they now offer adaptable trays too. The new trays are based on the overall size of two of their standard trays but customers can choose the number, size & depth of the pockets. If the adapted tray is added to their standard trays range, Toolcraft pay 50% of the tool costs.

 

For more standard options, Toolcraft's standard range includes storage & work trays which fit inside standard tote boxes and are available with or without lids. All Toolcraft's standard tote trays stack or nest inside each other and have various pocket options including some with sloping sides to aid parts removal. Published in Packaging Review.

Economy all the way along the line

Custom work trays by Toolcraft of Swindon, have replaced expensive graphite trays at a national manufacturer to carry tooling parts around the plant & prevent costly breakages.

 

Due to the cost & breakages caused by the graphite trays, Toolcraft suggested custom shaped work trays from inexpensive, tougher plastic and vacuum formed the first work trays in HIPS using the customer's expensive oven graphite tray.

 

The work trays are lighter in weight, easier to handle & give handling, storage & stock checking cost savings. After the initial success, several work trays for individual products are now made in different colours to ease product & process identification. Toolcraft also has a range of 20+ standard trays [that was then, now it's more like 180+ !]. If clients allow their work trays to be added to this range, Toolcraft contribute ½ the tooling costs. Tote inserts make boxes a better bet

Plastics manufacturer Toolcraft has developed vacuum formed inserts for industry standard tote boxes to improve storage conditions.

 

In one instance, slotted end panels enabled glass sheets to be held at a safe separation distance, whilst for another, antistatic storage trays were shaped to match PCBs. Vacuum forming allows company names to be embossed & PCB identities to be shown: numbering the compartments eases stocktaking [see our special vacuum forming features]. Work trays tidy up kitting process

Toolcraft Plastics has introduced a family of work trays which, by combining a central work space with adjacent component storage, facilitate production efficiency and tidy work areas.

 

Available with/out transparent lids, the work trays allow jobs with pre-allocated components to be stacked ready for assembly. Toolcraft makes 150+ standard vacuum formed storage trays in various materials including antistatic and has recently launched a pcb rack. Published in Whats New In Electronics.

Stacking up orders for pcb racks

Toolcraft Plastics vacuum forming techniques have given benefits of economy and clean edges to a new rack for stacking pcb's. The pcb racks add to the company's range of production trays for use in work stations and storage of small components.

Designed to take 10 ten PCBs at 15° with space to clear mounted components, pcb racks cater for various sizes. Economic production cuts cost, but with design & direct tool manufacture from cad files in house, high quality, cost effective specials can be made.
