Custom vacuum forming / thermoforming

Toolcraft provide a complete custom plastic vacuum forming / thermoforming service, including design by experienced designers, tooling and manufacture of the vacuum formings.

 

Examples of vacuum formings we've made include a range of POS displays & racks, beer dispenser covers, machine covers, model airplane parts and clamshell packaging. We've also produced all sorts of custom made plastic trays.

 

We can make your thermoforming products in a range of different materials, colours & finishes up to a maximum size of 1330 x 620 x 406 mm - see capacity list.

We had an urgent requirement for a vacuum formed ESD tray to protect our static sensitive devices. We sent Toolcraft a sample design together with our requirements and they designed the tray, created the vacuum forming tool, sent us samples, carried out a tool modification, sourced the roller cutter and produced the finished trays all within a few weeks. We are very happy with their custom tray service !

Custom Vacuum Forming - Tooling Solutions

Vacuum forming / thermoforming works by forming plastic sheets over a wooden or aluminium tool & is suitable for uniform section, low quantity trays, from 10 - 5000 or so - for more detail, view our explanation of the vacuum forming process.

 

We can either use your existing tool to make more vacuum formings for you or if you only have an existing forming, we may be able to use it to resin cast a new tool which speeds up the lead time and saves on toolmaking costs.

 

We can also manufacture a new tool to your design - we'll always check your design for compatability with the vacuum forming process and advise you if redesigns are needed to ensure the product forms correctly.

 

Custom Vacuum Forming - Materials, Colours & Features

We can make your custom vacuum formings in high impact, conductive, oil+chemical resistant, recycled, UV stable & V0 fire retardant materials.

We can also make them in a range of standard colours, as well as flocked (felt coated) plastic which is ideal for presentation boxes. Finally, special effect plastics, such as leathergrain, pinseal, gloss & carbon fibre, are available too.
